About us

Efficient separation plants form the basis for the successful use of fluid-assisted excavation methods for tunneling, microtunneling, horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and diaphragm wall construction. Worldwide, the specifications for construction companies when using bentonite slurries and suspensions are becoming more and more demanding. On the one hand, this concerns ensuring the rheological properties of the slurry used during operation and on the other hand, the disposal of the used slurry. SCHAUENBURG MAB supplies complete systems for the treatment of these slurries, which have been in use worldwide for many decades. Our systems for mud treatment are continuously optimized for the various applications based on many years of experience. Thus, we can support our customers with our plants to meet these requirements sustainably and economically.

Using slurry machines for microtunneling, it is important to separate as much of the excavated soil from the slurry as possible in order to ensure continuous and rapid advance. With the development of containerized compact systems, a few years ago, Schauenburg MAB redefined the standards for separating systems in microtunnelling. Since then, we have continuously optimized and adapted these systems. This process results in the extensive range of accessories and supplementary modules that our customers can use to tailor the standard systems to the respective ground and construction site conditions. The success of the HDD slurry treatment is not, as often assumed, due to the design of the screening machines, but essentially to the design and the number of cyclones used. MAB recycling plants are therefore equipped with two successive cyclone stages as standard. In the second cyclone stage, even 3″ cyclones are used, which guarantees a particularly good separation cut and thus an extremely low sand content in the recycled flush. In the MAB recycling plants, contrary to common procedures, so-called weld split screen panels are installed. This special design ensures the use of stable, durable and wear-resistant screen panels in the HDD process with a significantly longer service life. In combination with the highly thickening MAB hydrocyclones, the recycling plants ensure excellent separating cuts despite the larger gap width on the screen linings. Based on many years of experience, Raccoon centrifuges have been specifically configured for mud processing applications in HDD, microtunneling, diaphragm wall construction as well as tunneling and wastewater slurries.

MAB Separation Plant

The Allrounders

With MAB compact separation plants, our customers operate with compact containerized separation plants equipped with a pre-screening stage, two cyclone stages connected in sequence, and a dewatering screening stage.

These plants have been developed for a wide range of different soils.

Our standardized and compact MAB separation plants are available in 6 different sizes with capacities ranging from 100 m³/h to 500 m³/h, combining different treatment processes in one solution. The container format allows easy and cost-effective transport as well as the option to easily adapt the plants to different conditions.

The MAB compact separation plants are designed in 20ft or 40ft container format and all come with a CSC certificate.

MUNGO Separation Plants

The Straight one

We want to make our customers’ work as easy as possible.

With the MUNGO plants, you get robust separation plants that are reduced to the essentials. Equipped with high performance in compact form, they can be set up quickly and are easy to operate, making them a more cost-effective alternative to our other products.
MUNGO plants are provided with a pre-screening stage, a cyclone stage and a dewatering screen stage. These plants are used in applications where a very fine separation cut is not required or as a preliminary stage for downstream ultra-fine processing.
The MUNGO separation plants are available in 5 sizes in the capacity range from 100m³/h to 500m³/h.

The MUNGO benefits from Schauenburg MAB’s many years of experience in the field of separation.
